Newtown Workers Cottage

Description: As with many inner-city terraces, this job started with a confused rear wing which led to a rethink of how to best design a space for a growing family to live in and adapt as their needs and family grew. The result was a transformation from contrived closed areas to an open plan which embraces the trees and rear lane. Closely working with the builder and carpenters allowed detailed joinery and design decisions to flourish on site and all through the construction process. One of the aesthetic design features was the demolition of sandstock bricks from the site itself and repurposing them internally as a main design feature.

Specifications: Polished Concrete Flooring, American Oak Flooring, American Oak Joinery, Exposed Australian Hardwood features
